
A place of Healing, Hope and Inspiration
From the moment visitors arrive, the Beacon Project will offer peace, beauty and clarity. Whether attending a residential learning course, visiting one of our expert therapists or staying for a week-long retreat, visitors will feel revitalised, inspired and better equipped to face an increasingly challenging world.
HEALING
A community of resident counsellors, coaches and physical therapists from a range of disciplines will welcome clients into purpose-built spaces. There will be beautiful therapy rooms, but also spaces in nature where healing can happen in a private, soothing environment.
Therapists will be chosen for their level of expertise, but also their willingness to embrace techniques and paradigms that will meet the unique challenges of this time in human history. They must have an understanding of the relationships between mind, body, community, society, human systems and the natural world.
LEARNING
Members of the community will run educational programmes. We will also welcome external providers to teach from the Beacon Project, along with public speakers who would like to hold events. These programmes will include:
Training other therapists
Teaching community-building techniques
Teaching practical resilience skills
Training in skills to make sense of a changing world and navigate personal challenges, for example The Work That Reconnects, Nonviolence Communication and The Way of Council.
RESTORATION
Many visitors will attend residential retreats, when they will benefit from a slower way of life, participation in a functioning community, and engaging in restorative activities.
The site will include an organic garden for growing vegetables, where volunteers and participants will work together, along with a kitchen where the meals for the community are prepared. People will be invited to participate in any of these activities, to work with the healing professionals, or simply spend time on the land.
Retreats can be structured with set activities, or unstructured for a total break from the pressures of daily life.
